Tagliatelle?!

Question:

Tagliatelle?

Answers:
Why not try a shrimp carbonara? Sure, you're using shrimp and tagliatelle, but I bet it would be tasty.

Just fry off the shrimp first, making sure to take them out a bit early so they don't overcook. Set them aside.

Then chop up a rasher or two of bacon and toss it into the pan. Fry it until the fat has rendered and its crisp. Then remove that from the heat.

Get a big bowl, crack an egg into it, add a good pinch of salt and mix it really well. Cook your noodles, strain them, and add the hot noodles right into the bowl. Toss it to coat the noodles with the egg. The heat from the hot noodles will cook the egg a bit, but it won't be hot enough to make scrambled eggs. Then add your shrimp, the bacon, and a bit of cream (maybe a tbsp or two -- if you don't have cream, you can use 2 or 3% milk, but it might be a bit thin. If you only have skim, don't bother). Toss to combine and enjoy.

Disclaimer: this is a bit risky, since the egg won't be completely cooked, but I've read the chances of getting food poisoning from a raw egg is only about 1 in 20000. I do this all the time and I've never had a problem.

Saute your shrimp in garlic and olive oil, S&P, serve over this pasta recipe, quick and simple:

Tagliatelle Alfredo

Ingredients:
8 ounce Dried tagliatelle
2 tablespoon Cream
2 ounce Butter; melted
Ground black Pepper
1 ounce Parmesan cbeese; grated
Parmesan cbeese; grated to serve

Prep:
Cook the dried tagliatelle or noodles in a large pan of boiling salted water for about 6 minutes (but cook fresh for 2-3 minutes), until it is just tender but still firm, al dente. Meanwhile, mix the butter with the cheese and milk in a heated serving dish and season to taste with salt and pepper. Drain the noodles thoroughly and add to the cheese mixture. Toss well until the noodles are coated. Serve immediately with a little extra grated cheese.
