Penne Pasta... recipe request?!

Question:

Penne Pasta... recipe request?

so i am pretty clueless when it comes to cooking but i want to learn but i had this pasta dish in the cafeteria one day on the made fresh bar and it was delicious. They used penne noodles and it had some kind of spaghetti like sauce with it and they also threw in some spinnach leaves as it was all thrown into a pan to cook on a stove for a few minutes.

So my question is how do you go about making this?

What kind of sauce would be best?

What extra ingerdients like things to cook w/ such as vegetabe oil or garlic and parsley things of that nature?

Basically a how to would be appriciated. Remember I know nothing about cooking lol

Answers:
you could easily omit the bacon (if you don't like it) and add a bit of a jarred tomato sauce.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

1 (12 ounce) package penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
6 slices bacon, chopped
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 bunch fresh spinach, rinsed and torn into bite-size pieces

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta, and cook until tender, 8 to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place bacon in the skillet, and cook until browned and crisp. Add garlic, and cook for about 1 minute. Stir in the tomatoes, and cook until heated through.

Place the spinach into a colander, and drain the hot pasta over it so it is wilted. Transfer to a large serving bowl, and toss with the remaining olive oil, and the bacon and tomato mixture.

Pasta is so easy,Dear!Delicious & can be made so many ways!
First of all,you have to cook the pasta before the dish can be put together, unless you are making a skillet meal or casserole.
The dish you are referring to is a little familiar to me.I will see if I can help.
First of all bring a big pot of water to boiling & drop the penne in while stirring.Stir it so it does not stick & reduce the heat to medium.
When it is done,(to your consistency of course! But not too soft!)drain it & rinse it in a collander & set aside.
Get a large, deep skillet & put about 3 tablespoons of olive oil in it on low heat.
Add to this, diced onion & garlic, about 1 cup onion & 2 cloves garlic or a tablespoon of garlic powder.
1/2 tsp black pepper 1/1/2 tsp salt
2 cups of baby spinache leaves
2 tspoons of oregano or italian season ing mix
Simmer untill the onion is clear.
add 3 small cans of tomato sauce & 1 can of tomato paste.
Stir in about 2 cups of water & mix thouroughly until it bubbles.
add the pasta to this & let it simmer until the sauce is thick.
Serve on a plate with parmesean cheese coating the top & garlic bread.
I have been cooking for big dinners all my life, but I am sure you can downsize with a little practice!LOL!Good luck!

Go to the website & look up foodnetwork.com or Rachael Ray! She's always cooking pasta & it's stuff that's looks fast & easy. Those two websites have been good for me when I want to try something different.
