Question:

I'm cooking fajitas tonight & have the sauce & tortillas but...?

... what else should I serve with it? Rice, sauces, I'm not sure....? Thanks

Answers:
Salsa, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Iceburg lettuce chopped

You could make spanish rice, and pinto beans or refried beans or black beans on the side

My family normally have them on their own! 2 or 3 each.

Salad is always a fav.

Salsa, sour cream and salad

Make some salads and probably a soup. That should be good enough. But if you are having a party then i'll suggest you make some chili.

You can serve fajitas with refried beans they are lovely you can get them in a tin at supermarket. Also guacomole and sour cream go really well on tortillas. For a real mexican extravaganza you could also serve with nachos

How about salad or stir fry veg they are quite filling so you dont need much. I love them just bought a new kit that is just like the chinese crispy duck pancakes you get yummy good luck.

How about...

onions
green, red, and yellow, bell peppers (for a nice look :)
chicken
maybe a slightly spicy sauce, but nothing overbearing
sour cream

Try this recipe...I made it for Cinco De Mayo....excellent...
Mexican Rice
(serves 6)

2 cups long grain white rice
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves finely chopped garlic
3/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
1 28-ounce can diced tomatoes
Approximately 3 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon ground cumin
2 teaspoons salt

1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wide pot.

2. When hot, add the chopped garlic, onion, and green pepper. Cook over medium heat, until the onion turns translucent, but not brown.

3. Add the rice and stir to coat. Cook approximately 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

4. Add the diced tomatoes. (Reserve the liquid.)

5. Measure the remaining tomato liquid from the can and add enough chicken broth to equal 4 cups total.

6. Add the liquid, salt, and ground cumin to the pot. Stir and cover. Simmer over medium low heat approximately 20 minutes, until liquid is absorbed.

We always have chips and salsa as a side dish.

are you doing chicken fajitas?
got red peppers?
spring onions?
jalepeno peppers?
sour cream?
mmmmmmmmmm yummy yummmy...enjoy :)

marinated chicken
marinatead beef
onion/pepper mix
mixed cheese
guacamole
sour cream
shredded lettuce

Guacamole, and salsa sauce and sour cream all to go inside with your fried chicken, or steak, fried peppers and onions, nice salad, make some rice and add some seasonings alternatively if you no good at making mixed rice go and get one of them ready made flavoured mexican rice that you just heat in microwave and mix it in with plain white rice. Or you could do some chips. Grated cheese if you like.

Depending on how healthy you are planning to make it, serve with either chips and fresh guacamole or salsa, or spanish rice and refried beans. Serving sour cream and shredded lettuce really cools the fajitas in your mouth and is a great flavor combo. Enjoy!

Ummmm Fajitas!!! Can I come over for dinner??? I usually eat them by themselves, but rice won't be a bad idea.

I always make Black Beans and cook them with some Rotella Tomatoes and Chili's and onions, add a little bit of taco seasoning in there for flavor as well and a little bit of water... it's my favorite mexican side dish.

Oh and make sure the Onions and Peppers are really carmalized... that's the best way to have them!!!!

a nice refreshing salad with hint of lemon having the same also tonight enjoy

Sour cream, Salad potato wedges

how about a side of rice and beans with salsa and melted cheese over the top.

Mmmmm... fajitas! What time should I come round???? :-)

you should serve corn or fruit i say it 's not bad if u like something healthily

I always serve fajitas with a big plate of Nachos with salsa and cheese. This makes it quite a big dinner.

lightly spiced potato wedges would go fantastically well along with salad.............make sure you have the sour cream / Greek yogurt for on the fajitas as well as salsa........soooooo good. that's what i will be having tomorrow night :-)

How about refried beans?

How about some "Campfire Shrimp"?

Buy:

Large Shrimp (as many as you will need depending on the number of people you are serving)

1 large can of pineapple juice

1 whole pineapple

Real Butter

first boil the pineapple juice until it reduces and gets thick (be careful not to let it burn)

Grill (or pan fry) the shrimp and baste them with the thickened pineapple juice remove when they are done.

Cut the whole pineapple
first cut off the top (approx 1 in down the side) and set it to the side (don't throw it away because it makes a great garnish)

Now cut the pineapple one more time approx half way down the side. leaving a bottom section and a middle section.

Take the bottom section and scoop out most of the meat from the pineapple (making a bowl)

Mix the meat from the bottom section with equal (or more) amounts of butter and put it in a pan and melt it. Once it is melted and completely incorporated with the butter pour the butter/pineapple mixture into the bowl that you made from the bottom section.

Put the bowl in the center of a serving plate and surround it with the shrimp. Place the top of the pineapple onto the bowl (like a lid)

Dip the grilled (pan fried) shrimp into the pineapple butter and enjoy.

What we do is, we have them with chicken, peppers and onion. We also put grated cheese in a bowl, along with shredded lettuce in another bowl. We also have the chilli sauce in a bowl and sour cream and we get stuck in!!!We have a few drinks and its a laugh. Finger food is great! Good luck!

Rice and Beans
Polenta
grilled onions/green peppers
refried beans
