Can I boil oolong tea and for how long ?!

Question:

Can I boil oolong tea and for how long ?

Answers:
You never want to boil tea. You want to boil the water then after, let it sit with the tea bag or tea press.

I never let my water come to a full boil when making tea. Catch it just before it boils. You will get better flavor this way.

I agree. You'll only ruin it by boiling. Pre-warm your tea pot with boiling water, empty it, put in the tea bag or leaves, pour in more boiling water, and allow to steep 3-5 minutes.

Preparation of Oolong Tea

Oolong Tea being a semi fermented Tea needs to be infused ( steeped ) for approximately

7 minutes. Ordinary Oolong Teas may be rinsed with cold water before infusion.

This will flush away any dust and small tea particles. Use a heaped tea spoon per cup

( 1.5 to 2 grams ).

High quality Oolongs like Fancy or Choicest Oolongs do not require rinsing unless you are

using up the last bits of your product.

Always use cold water from your tap or water purifier ( never preheated water )

and heat it to 100 degrees Celsius ( boiling point )

Preparation of black Tea ( fully fermented )

Always use cold water from your tap or water purifier ( never preheated water )

and heat it to

100 degrees Celsius ( boiling point )

Steep your black Tea for 2.5 minutes if you drink it without milk or sugar.

After 2.5 minutes your Tea has released its full amount of caffeine but very little

tannin ( tannin makes your tea taste bitter ). If you prefer your Tea white, with

or without sugar, you can infuse 3 to 4 minutes. Use a good heaped teaspoon per cup

with big leaf Tea, and a level teaspoon with broken Tea or fannings.
