Romantic meal?!
Romantic meal?
I am wanting to cook a romantic meal tonight for me and my boyfriend. I have no idea how to go about this for example what should I cook and what should I do?
Answers:
Fettuccine Alfredo - from scratch. It's a very romantic dish b/c the sauce is so luxurious. serve with a nice red wine, spinach salad, and something chocolate for dessert. Set the table with your finest dinnerwear & candles, and dim the lights.
Fresh pasta is the best choice for this dish; supermarkets sell 9-ounce containers of fresh pasta in the refrigerator section. When boiling the pasta, undercook it slightly (even shy of al dente) because the pasta cooks an additional minute or two in the sauce. Note that Fettuccine Alfredo must be served immediately; it does not hold or reheat well.
1 1/2cups heavy cream
2tablespoons unsalted butter
Table salt
1/2teaspoon ground black pepper
9ounces fresh fettuccine
1 1/2ounces Parmesan cheese , grated (about 3/4 cup)
1/8teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
1. Bring 4 1/2 quarts water to rolling boil, covered, in large stockpot or Dutch oven. Using ladle or heatproof measuring cup, fill each individual serving bowl with about 1/2 cup boiling water; set bowls aside to warm.
2. While water comes to boil, bring 1 cup heavy cream and butter to simmer in 3- to 4-quart saucepan over medium heat; reduce heat to low and simmer gently until mixture reduces to 2/3 cup, 12 to 15 minutes. Off heat, stir in remaining 1/2 cup cream, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper.
3. Add 1 tablespoon salt and pasta to boiling water; cook pasta until just shy of al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta cooking water, then drain pasta. Meanwhile, return cream mixture to simmer over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low and add pasta, Parmesan, and nutmeg to cream mixture. Cook over low heat, tossing pasta with tongs to combine, until sauce coats pasta and pasta is just al dente and cheese is melted, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in reserved pasta cooking water; sauce may look rather thin but will gradually thicken as pasta is served and eaten. Working quickly, empty serving bowls of water; divide pasta among bowls, tossing pasta to coat well with sauce. Serve immediately.

I made dinner for my fiance and she adored it! It was simple, but because I made it it was special.
I brought the Tyson Chicken Strips, cooked them and put a coupe in the soft pita shells *soft taco shells* with mayonaise, lettuce & cheese. (you can put wutever he likes on it). Then I made brocolli and cheese one of my fiance's favorite. (of course you can subsitute and make your bf's fav).
For desert I made strawberry shortcake. Very simple. Get 2 things of strawberries, cut them up (into a bowl) into 1/4 or 1/8 size slices, put about 1/2 cup of sugar in them, mix it and let them sit for 20 min. At the end of the 20 min take a fork and just press on them lightly to get more juice out of them. While the strawberries are sitting you can have your biscuits in the oven as well. When the biscuits are done, let them cool, then break a biscuit up, pour some of the strawberries & juice over it, then put some whipped cream on top. It comes out delicious! :-)
I also got flowers for the middle of the table, soft lighting, got a little wine glass and surrounded it with two little flowers, etc.
We had a great night! I hope that your night is wonderful!
Good luck and I hope I've helped
How about lasagna, salad and bread sticks.
Set the table very nice and use lots of candles...
Ask your butcher for the sirloin CAP steaks they are way more tender. If the steaks are approx. 1" cook 3 min. per side, instead of 1 1/2 min.
BALSAMIC GLAZED SIRLOIN STEAK
Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less.
3/4 pound 1/2-inch-thick boneless sirloin steak
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/8 teaspoon dried hot red pepper flakes
3 tablespoons medium-dry Sherry
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1 tablespoon cold unsalted butter
Pat steak dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
In a large heavy skillet heat oil over moderately high heat until it begins to smoke and add steak. Cook steak 1 1/2 minutes on each side for medium-rare meat and transfer with a slotted spatula to a small platter. Keep steak warm.
Pour off almost all fat from skillet and add garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook garlic mixture over moderate heat, stirring, 10 seconds and add Sherry. Boil mixture until almost all liquid is evaporated and remove skillet from heat. Add soy sauce, vinegar, and honey and bring to a simmer, stirring. Add butter and stir over low heat until incorporated. Spoon glaze over steak.
Serve with your favorite side dishes he'll love you forever!
