Question:

Quick and Easy Desserts?

My son is coming to stay with me tonight, and I am fixing his favorite meal, pork chops, mashed potatoes, cabbage, What would be a quick easy dessert to make to go with it, Remember, I have to be able to make it today, I don't have time to let anything sit overnight. Thanks!

You could make smores together after dinner or make your own ice cream sandwiches. Here is a link to some great recipes.

this is as simple as it gets
buy an angel food cake,a can of vanilla pudding, frozen strawberries and whip cream (i like the real stuff but you can use cool whip)
break the cake up in bite size pieces
in a clear glass bowl (just looks pretty but is optional) place a layer of cake, some blobs of pudding and some strawberries .
should make a few layers then top with whipped cream.
i take a Hershey bar and "shave it " with the potato peeler to top it.
yum

lets put a brownie in a bowl, microwave to desired temp. put a scoop of your fave icecream on it,whipping & cherry is a nice touch. try ruggles bearclaw icecream if u want a treat.

this is quick to put together but it takes about an hour to cook.
but there is no sitting over night, you can eat right away or let cool to room temperature.

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder

Put butter in an 8-inch square or 9-inch round pan; set in oven to melt. When butter has melted, remove pan from oven.
Whisk flour, 3/4 cup of sugar, baking powder and salt in small bowl. Add milk; whisk to form a smooth batter. Pour batter into pan, then scatter fruit over batter. Sprinkle with remaining 1 Tb. of sugar.
Bake until batter browns and fruit bubbles, 50 to 60 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with a dollop of whipped cream or a small scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.

**I have found that using frozen berries, makes it even quicker to put together!

Buy neapolitan ice cream that is in the square block container. Open it up and cut it into about 3/4 inch slices. Take two frozen waffles and put them in the toaster. Once done, place a slice of ice cream between the two waffles while they are hot. This way the ice cream melt just a bit in between the warm waffles. This is one of the best ice cream sandwiches I really like. Very quick and easy.

well, I am a big fan of store-bought dessert because I am not good at making them myself, so I have three suggestions:

1. Ice cream with canned or fresh fruit and his favorite ice cream sauce.
2. Cheese cake (store-bought or you can make it yourself).
3. Apple pie (you can buy those in the freezer section, they only need to be put in the oven and you can get other things done at the same time).

I hope that helps!

Easy and oh soooo good!
