Question:

Do you prefer to bake, broil or boil a rock lobster tail?

Answers:
I love to broil a rock Lobstertail , but i like to do it this way, Place tail on cutting board and with a sharp knife cut the tali completely in hal.
then insert a spit or skewer lengthwise through the meat and shell to keep each half fronm curling up . In small bowl melt 3 tbs butter, 1/2 tsp minced garlic ,juice if 1/2 a lemon. and 1/4 tsp or crushed red pepper flakes. mix well and heat til tepid. Place tail halves on baking sheet , flesh side up and batse well with mixture. place under boiler and watch it carefully , It cooks quickly. At about 1/2 done or when it is mostly translucent baste again , finish and serve.

I think broiling brings out the flavor the best

Broil

Steam. Preferably wrapped in seaweed. Locks in thr flavor a-la a traditional New England Clambake.

grilled. there is a japanese steakhouse in my area that makes an AWESOME grilled rock lobster tail.

none of the choices because i do not like lobster- sorry

Boil - in salt water. Not just a pinch, but alot of salt. Your water should taste like sea water. People usually add a tablespoon to a gallon of water. All that does is waste salt!! This will infuse your lobster tail with flavor, and then after it is done cooking you can have a grill hot to give it a char flavor. If not, then just boil, dip in some melted butter, and enjoy!!!
Hope this helps!

Do what we call a "half n half"

Boil it for half the time then slice the tail in half. Top the half with seasoned bread crumbs and broil for the rest of the time. This is exceptionally good if you get a female tail that has roe in it. serve with drawn butter or better yet, grand marnier cream sauce.

In order: boiled, broiled, baked.

When I was 14 -15 years old I worked in the kitchen next to my house. They prepared lobster boiling in water with a little vinegar and celery seed. When nearly done I would split the shell, remove the tail, place it on top of the shell, brush it with butter, sprinkle on a little paprika and then broil it for about a minute. It out-sold any other entree on the menu. I don't know the reason for the vinegar and celery seed but whatever it was, it worked.

Definitley boiled, but put a lot of salt in the water.
