Bean with Bacon Open Faced Sandwiches?!

Question:

Bean with Bacon Open Faced Sandwiches?

I know this is going to sound a tad strange, but I can remember having these sandwiches as a kid and I really liked them. I know it used bean with bacon soup, ground beef, but that's all I can recall. Does anyone know a recipe for what I'm talking about?

Answers:

PORK - N - BEAN SANDWICHES

Bread slices

Make open-face sandwiches and broil until cheese melts. Layer as follows: Bread slice, layer of pork-n-beans, slice of cheese, 2 slices of bacon

BEAN & BACON SANDWICHES

6 slices bread
1 (15 oz.) can pork & beans
12 sm. slices yellow cheese, approx. 1/2x2 1/2"
Bacon, 1/2" slices

Place bread on broiler pan. Broil until bread is lightly browned on top side. Remove from oven. Turn browned side down. Drain pork and beans of excess liquid. Spread beans evenly on bread, covering as close to edge as possible.
Top with small slices of cheese. Cover cheese with bacon slices. Try to lay the bacon strips flat so they will cook evenly. Broil open faced sandwiches until cheese melts and begins to turn light brown.
