Cheesecake burning queery?!
Cheesecake burning queery?
my cheesecake always comes out cooked nicely and not even burnt on top, but round the edge where the tin has touched it, it always comes out dark and burnt looking...are there any tips to avoiding this?? thanks in advance xxx

I agree that it it easier to make no-cook cheesecake, with a simple base of crushed digestives and melted butter pressed firmly into the bottom of the tin.
However, if you do prefer the cooked method, it is important to use a good quality, heavy baking tin, as this will distribute the heat better, cheap baking tins or those which have warped will cause burnt bits. Also, grease the tin thoroughly.
tin foil on the edges?not sure if it will help with cheese cake though. i never made cheese cake. but i do bake pies and i put tin foil on the edges so they won't over cook
Stop doing it the hard way, and start making no-bake cheesecakes!

I don't usually cook my cheescake so maybe butter your dish first and maybe take it out a few minutes before its ready.
Tin foil all right>But i line the tin with grease prove paper or brown.X Cindy or take it out of oven near the end and grill it for a bit. But i did not think you cooked cheesecake. the base may be but i make a cold mix x
Try wrapping your tin in foil then baking your cheesecake in a water bath. all you have to do is placed the wrapped pan with the batter in it in side of a roasting pan the add water about 2/3 of the way up. this will help to bake the cake a little more gently. this should help and should also produce a lighter cake
Don't cook it!! I never do i always make non cook ones.
try tying some newspaper around the outside of the tin but use natural string and not the plastic stuff
