Answers:
Hi ~
water: 16 fl oz = 1 pound

oops! I received a correction from a better person than I: he says the following:

16 fluid ounces is only the nominal conversion to a metric pound (500g) ..
however, 16 fluid ounces is actually 480g ..and 1 fluid ounce is 29.57g;
1 pound is 454g ..... and (I continue to quote him!) ... therefore 15.35 fluid ounces is 1 pound

in kitchen terms:
1 fluid ounce = 30g
1 pound = 450g
so 1 pound = 450/30g = 15 fluid ounces ....

I hope this helps .... I am out of breath from the mental gymnastics.... and I'll take his word for it .... (it came from CubCur, by the way) * * * * * for HIM!!!
