How do you clean mold off of a pizza stone?!

Question:

How do you clean mold off of a pizza stone?

The stone was left wet after the last use & clean, has sat for a while and appears to have mold growth in two spots. Can anything be done?

Thanks!

Answers:
you have to use bleach to make sure that you kill the bacteria completely. I would soak it in bleach for about 10-15 minutes and then scrub it down completely. good luck

I never had mold but i cant get the stains off mine. I will watch your answers too.

As I have been told the stone will not abosrb, so that would mean that the mold is only on the top layer where there is something for it to grow on. Definitely get it cleaned off. It wouldn't hurt either to put ti in the oven and just let it cook itelf for awhile.

Yes, you definitely need to use bleach to make sure you remove all the bacteria, that way, the mold won't spread to more areas or on to anything else. I might leave it there anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. It depends on how much mold there is and how long it's been there.

Also, when you do remove it from the bleach, make sure you clean it off COMPLETELY. Use something like Dawn, and, to be safe, you may want to let it soak in Dawn (or something like it) and water. Then, I would just rinse it off as best as is possible.

Hope it clears up!

Place the stone in a cold oven .
Turn up the heat to 500 , when temp is reached turn off the oven
.Allow stone to cool,
Brush off mold ash
