How do you prevent pancakes from drying out when cooking?!

Question:

How do you prevent pancakes from drying out when cooking?

Answers:
Cook the pancakes over medium heat, and don't overcook them. Turn them once the first side starts to bubble, and then cook only until the second side is a light brown. They will continue to cook for a little while after they're taken out of the pan, so if they're too brown to begin with, they will dry out even further.

Also, use cooking oil or spray to lightly grease the pan -- not margarine or butter. Both margarine and butter tend to smoke and burn, which will affect both the taste and texture of the pancakes.

To keep pancakes warm while you prepare the rest of the batch, place them on a baking sheet, cover with a lightly-moistened paper towel, and place in the oven at 200 degrees. That way, they'll still be warm enough to eat but the damp towel will keep them from drying out.

Hope this helps!

Been cooking for a whole lot of years now. :-)

lots of butter on the pan

lots of spray stuff and cook them on a lower heat

turn them when ready and try not to have heat on too high a low setting and when u see bubbling around edges flip

When i make pancakes, I put some butter or margarine on top of each cooked side. Keeps it soft. Putting alot of butter in the pan while cooking makes it burn and creates alot of smoke. Putting too much of margarine in the pan while cooking makes it not cook right.

Cook slow and on low heat. Use lots of grease or cooking spray on your skillet.
