2/3rd's part extra virgin olive oil to 1/3rd part vinegar. Balsamic is good, but so is red wine vinegar, white wine vinegar, champagne, sherry or rice wine vinegar and some of us even like the bite of apple cider vinegar.
Some people just like to squeeze a fresh lemon over their greens and just add a little bit of oil, but I won't use any oil other than olive.
Try to use some minced garlic, a teenie bit will do, and fresh herbs if you've got them--especially basil if you're throwing in tomatoes, and fresh ground black pepper and a nice dash of salt. Enjoy!
Yes...a bit of oil and lots of balsamic vinegar, and a little salt and pepper...and bacon bits and croutons.
vinegay- more healthy!
I like vinegar. Some people to Olive oil and add some other "stuff" :) Or maybe mix both????
both--balsamic vinegar and canola oil

Both for me. Balsamic and olive oil. Add some garlic and salt and pepper and you're set!
by definition all salad dressings have some fat (usually oil) and some acidic ingredient - often vinegar but can be citrus juice or other acidic liquids.
So the answer is YES - I almost always use oil AND vinegar on my salads.
it depends on the type of salad... for yours vinegar might be the best.
Hmm.. that salad sounds good already! But I prefer oil better than vinegar. Vinegar.. i like separely with other things but not with oil.
I use both. EVOO and vinegar, with some dill, pepper, sugar, and salt. Then I squeeze some fresh lemon into it. So fresh!
If I choose one of the two I would choose vinegar because its more healthier than oil. But if Its me, I would choose those spray dressing from the supermarket. They taste really good and only 30 calories per spray.
