Does prosciutto go well with fettucini alfredo?!

Question:

Does prosciutto go well with fettucini alfredo?

im making a meal for me home ec. class and im making fettucini alfredo as the main course. instead of putting in the (boring) usuall things like chicken or shrimp i was thinking of adding prosciutto. do you think it will go well.?good idea?

Answers:
Prosciutto matches very well with cheese, so an alfredo sauce will taste great with prosciutto added.

If the prosciutto isn't already sliced, you might want to dice it into fine little chunks, then brown them off to release some oil. Add that to your alfredo!

Yes... I just made some with Bacon and Diced Pork Stew Meat...it was great.

ask the pope he make that, or go on internet

Hi there !! :) That sounds like a great idea. Although....U could try kicking it up a notch by using prosciutto 2 wrap around asparagus then lay it across the bed of fettucini. Giada DeLaurentiis did it on EVERYDAY ITALIAN & it looked just AWESOME! This way U would still have the meat as part of the entree but U would b adding a crunchy green veggie as well to the mix.

Difficulty: Easy
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Inactive Prep Time: 24 hours
Cook Time: 3 minutes
Yield: 4 servings

Dressing:
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon chopped basil leaves
1 teaspoon chopped oregano leaves
1 teaspoon chopped rosemary leaves
8 to 12 stalks asparagus, blanched
8 to 12 thin slices prosciutto
1 head lettuce, optional
Tomato wedges, optional

Mix all ingredients for dressing together and let it set overnight. Do not refrigerate.
Marinate the asparagus in the dressing for 10 minutes.
Wrap 2 to 3 asparagus with prosciutto.
Serve on a bed of lettuce with tomato wedges, if using, and spoon dressing on top.

Well it's just a suggestion hope it gave U another way 2 look @ the usage of prosciutto in your dish. Besh Wishes 4 a great dish. :o)

Sounds perfect. Some other option add-ins - mushrooms, roasted red sweet peppers, or sun-dried tomatoes.

If you want to try some thing different. use the prosciutto add mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, chicken, and add penne pasta.

Yes, saute' it in butter with shallots, add the heavy cream, reduce, add frozen peas(or add fresh ones earlier), then parmesan cheese. Grind in fresh black pepper at the end and toss with fettuccine.
