Are gorgonzola and feta cheese the same thing?!

Question:

Are gorgonzola and feta cheese the same thing?

I have a recipes that each require them, but I'm wondering if I can just substitute one for the other and get the same thing?

Answers:
No.

They are not the same thing however I have found that I can substitute gorgonzola, feta and bleu with good results. Feta is more mild followed by gorgonzola, blue is the most pugnant so if you are going to use bleu instead of feta use less. Hope this helped! julz

They are not the same cheese, but both have a tangy flavor so you could swap one for the other in most recipes.

Gorgonzola is an Italian blue cheese. Its texture is soft but crumbly (although relatively creamy compared to feta), and it is made from cow's milk.

Feta is a Greek cheese made from sheep or goat's milk, or a combination of both. (You should check the ingredients label on whatever kind you buy to know for sure.) It is cured in brine, and is fairly soft but has a crumbly texture -- sort of a like a dry-ish cottage cheese.

They are both delicious on pizza and pastas. They both go well with tomato, oregano, onion, basil and garlic flavors.
