Answers:
Monte Cristo Sandwich
INGREDIENTS:
18 slices bread
butter
6 slices ham
6 slices turkey or chicken
12 slices Swiss or Gruyere cheese
a little mustard and mayonnaise, if desired
3 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
PREPARATION:
For each sandwich use 3 slices of bread. Butter one side of bread first, then cover with a slice of ham and a slice of turkey or chicken. Butter both sides of the second slice of bread and spread with a little mustard or other dressing, if desired Place on top of turkey or ham slice and top with 2 thin slices of cheese. Butter third slice for top; press sandwich lightly and trim crusts. Cut into halves diagonally and secure with toothpicks.
Beat eggs with milk and salt. Dip sandwich halves into the egg mixture and fry on a hot skillet or griddle in butter or margarine. Brown on all sides, adding more butter when necessary. Remove toothpicks before serving.

Chocolate-Dipped Shortbread Logs
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup ground almonds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract, optional
4 ounces semisweet chocolate
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup chopped blanched almonds
PREPARATION:
A food processor makes beating easy.
Beat 1/2 cup butter with flour, cornstarch, sugar, ground almonds, and vanilla. When dough begins to clump, take it up and shape into a cylinder. Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Pinch and press each portion into a 12- to 14-inch rope, about 1/2 to 3/4 inches in diameter. Gently roll on a smooth surface to smooth out wrinkles and cracks. Cut each rope into 2-inch lengths and place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until just golden on bottoms. Cool on wire racks.
In a double boiler over hot water, combine semisweet chocolate with 2 tablespoons butter. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is melted and well blended. Dip half of each cookie into the chocolate, then dip into chopped almonds. Place on wire rack over waxed paper for drips. Let cool until chocolate is set.
you could make a batch of sugar cookies & maybe PB&J?
If you don't wanna run to the store then bake your bread. slice your bread and make egg sandwich and tuna sandwich out of it. Cut the sandwiches into 4 like bite size. Cut up some celery stalks and carrots and sweet red and yellow pepper. Prepare a dip. Fresh cut up cantaloup are great too, cut it in bite size and just poke some tooth picks into it and its very easy to grab a bite with that or any cut up fresh fruits that are not sloppy. For your sweets, bake a chocolate brownie and off you go. quick and easy stuff that you all can enjoy. have a nice picnic!
Okay you want simple using items from your home so I am assuming you have sandwich stuff so make your sandwiches in varies flavor

or you can make this instead of tuna sandwich...
Mom's Famous Tuna Dip
Not your standard afternoon tea fare, but this is one of my mom's recipes, always a big hit at family gatherings:
Mom's Tuna Dip
1 pint sour cream
4 oz. cream cheese
2 tbsp (heaping) cottage cheese Optional
2 tbsp (heaping) Miracle Whip
1 squirt Worcestershire Sauce I a use a spicy sauce instead
1 sm can tuna
Ketchup to taste Optional
Potato chips, corn chips, wheat thins, triscuits, etc. for dipping
Soften cream cheese. Add all ingredients except ketchup to large bowl and beat lightly. Add the ketchup last, and just a splash at a time "to taste". Serve with chips and/or crackers for dipping. Make plenty, it will go fast, I guarantee.
Treats...
I would just take some cake mixes that you have and make cupcakes (mini) or if you have muffin mixes make some mini muffins but in a pretty basket or container you have around. You could make miniature brownies adding a dollop of cool whip or a strawberry slice on it.
Have a tray or pretty bowl of fruit as well and if you have yogurt make a dip out of it.
You could make snickerdoodle cookies:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening or lard
1 1/2 cup sugar
Cream the above until fluffy and add:
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of baking soda
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar (the only thing you may not have in the cabinet)
3 cups flour
Mix just until the flour is incorporated.
Then mix about 1/3 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a bowl. Scoop a ball of dough out of the big bowl, roll it in the cinnamon sugar and place on the cookie sheet.
Bake at 325 until the edges are golden. Let cool on the cookie sheet until they are firm.
