Can a blender function as a shaved ice/snow cone machine?!

Question:

Can a blender function as a shaved ice/snow cone machine?

In other words, can a blender produce the same results as a shaved ice/snow cone machine? Or is it not powerful enough?

Answers:
Not really as good. My blender has an ice crusher but it wouldn't do the job like you would like it at all.

I think cannot.

Get a machine made for crushing the ice. the blender bottle may shatter, if and when the motor manages to start

no...blenders aren't built to shave ice, but if you go to a kitchen supply store you can find special machines made specifically for that, they usually have a handle and they're pretty easy to use.

That is not a good idea. The blades in the blender may chip and you might get a piece of metal in your ice and swallow it causing damage to tender areas of your digestive tract.

If you have a thru the door ice dispenser and it gives you the option of crushed ice, try that. It will not be as fine but it may do.

You could go to K-Mart or WalMart or somewhere and look in the kitchen appliances or childrens section and find a snowcone maker.
