i love fondue!

swiss or grueye(sp?) bread cubes, canned potatoes, broccoli are good dippers. rub a pot with garlic add about a cup of white wine. heat until wine bubbles. then throw in about two cups of cheese tossed with a T. of cornstarch. add this a handful at a time and stir until smooth.

Cheddar, definitely. Dipping bread is AMAZING! Apples, are surprisingly good too. You can mix some onions and bacon into your cheese for even more taste.

i like goat cheese or brie cheese........dip mushrooms and cauliflower in it

Gruyere, fontina, havarti. I like caramelized onions in mine. Honestly my favorite thing to dip in it is tater tots (hey, it's retro!). I guess you could do little potatoes and bread of course. You could do vegetables, but I say if you're going to eat all of that cheese just do it right.

Ditto for swiss and cheddar. You must start with either a white wine for swiss or a beer for cheddar (probably about 1/2 a cup. Adding minced garlic is a must (1-2 cloves). White pepper is also good. You need to melt the cheese in a double boiler so it does not burn. You ad the cheese to the alcohol after is boiled a minute, add slowly and stir until you get a desired consistency.
I like to dip breads (pump, rye, white), tart apples (like Granny Smiths), and veggies (Carrots, Celery, cauliflower, broccoli)

There are awesome recipes around that usese chedder chesse and beer. I like to dip and kind of veggies, meats, and apples in them. Also swill and geuyere are common cheeses.
