Hot chocolate fudge cake served with fresh cream

I like gooey butter cakes

An ice cream sundae of some description. Call it something like 'Chocolate Heaven' and use some chocolate mousse, whipped cream, vanilla or white chocolate ice cream and melted chocolate as a sauce. It'll harden when it hits the ice cream and contrast beautifully with the soft cream and mousse.

If you don't want to make it look like a sundae, serve it in glass ramekins or cocktail glasses if you've got any. :)

My favorite is Angel Delight. Chocolate flavour but made with CREAM not milk!. Follow the instructions - leave in the fridge for 20 minutes and then sprinkl some Cadburys Flake on the top - cheap but delicious!!

hard to say as you dont say if you can cook. or how much effort you want to put into the dish.

This is easy to make and absolutely fabulous.

Molten Chocolate Cakes

4 squares Bakers Semi-sweet baking chocoloate
1/2 cup butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
6 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup Cool Whip topping

Preheat oven to 425. Butter 4 souffle dishes or custard cups. Place on baking sheets.
Microwave chocolate and 1/2 cup butter in large microwavable bowl on high one minute or until butter is melted. Stir with wire whisk until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar until well blended. Whisk in eggs and egg yolks. Stir in Flour. Divide batter between prepared custard cups.
Bake 13 to 14 minutes or until sides are firm but centers are soft. Let stand 1 minute. Carefully run small knife around cakes to loosen. Invert cakes onto dessert dishes. Top with 1 tablespoon of whipped topping and serve immediately. Serves 4.

Batter can be made a day ahead. Pour into prepared custard cups, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Bake as directed.

***Strawberry Bavarian Cream ***
******************************...

go online and type in:
Fannie Farmer Boston Cooking School Cookbook.....
get Chapter 25: Cold Desserts
then to #80 in that thread ....
Strawbery Bavarian Cream... it instructs you to line a mould w/ large fresh strawberries cut in half .... do that then do another lining of ladyfingers...and then pour into the
center a filling of Charlotte Russe Mixture (#68 - same thread) ... or use Orange Charlotte (#75 - same thread)

this is not what I know as a Bavarian Cream, but it will do just fine!
(the one I know is made with a custard
base, flavored, gelatine added, and a whole lot of whipped cream carefully folded in ... and put into the fridge to jell .... served as is or with fruit ....

Peace & Love

p.s. there's recipe for toasted marshmallows on the same thread ... it sounds like fun... kid-friendly!

This is my absolute favorite recipe for chocolate cake that's to die for!

Cream together one at a time:
1 cup shortening
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 tespoon vanilla
3 eggs, separated
(First blend in yolks. Beat the whites until they are stiff, then fold in.)
1 cup cold water.
1/3 cup pureed tomatoes (It doesn't sound good when you say it, but it gives the cake lots of moisture.)

Then beat in:
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup dry cocoa (I actually use 1/4 a cup Swiss Miss (sp?) cocoa powder for hot chocolate and 1/4 cup dry cocoa to make it richer)
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt.

Bake in a 13 by 9 pan or two greased and floured 8 1/2 inch round pans at 350o for 35 to 40 minutes.
Frost with chocolate butter frosting. You can also top with strawberries.
