What happens if you cook with Smart Balance Light?!

Question:

What happens if you cook with Smart Balance Light?

I know if you read the labels it recommends smart balance light be used just as a spread and that you use regular smart balance for cooking but I make some (baked) granola bars and I was thinking of trying it. Does it become bad for you somehow or does it just taste funny?

Answers:
It wouldn't hurt to try it. Let me know how it turns out.

It doesn't have the same melting capabilities as real butter or even margarine. When I tried to saute with it, it was just a funky texture and the food stuck to the pan. But, just try it once, you may get lucky and have it come out great! I would cut the batch in half, just in case.

Your baked product will probably not firm up like is normally does.
