Can I grill scallops?!

Question:

Can I grill scallops?

I have four large scallops that I'd like to prepare. Can I grill them on my outside gas barbecue grill? How would I season them? If I can't grill them, how can I best prepare them?

Answers:
i do, make sure you use skewers thru them and put foil over the area where the scallops are..poke some holes in the foil..i do this with shrimp also..stray with pam and use whatever seasoning you like..good luck

you can grill ANYTHING, literally. ive even heard of grilling fruits such as bananas. you could season the scallops with a little salt, i like em just like that. you could also check out food.com or a search engine for grilled scallop recipes.

Mmmm.... they are yummy grilled. Why not make shish kabobs with some veggies or pineapple chuncks. You can season them with lemon juice, pepper and a pinch of salt.

they cook fast, don't over grill, makes them tough. coat them in butter that has garlic browned in it and has cooled. after your grill is real hot, wipe cooking oil on the rack first, so the scallops dont stick to the rack, dont burn yourself, oiling the rack

You can grill them, but they do cook very quickly and can end up tough if you're not careful. I suggest brushing them with melted butter for extra moisture and then grilling them over indirect heat.

Cook them just until they are no longer translucent and then take them off the grill immediately. They'll continue to cook for a little while after they're taken off the heat, so you don't want to over do them. Brush them again with more butter and a splash of lemon juice or a sprinkle of dill weed, and serve right away.

Yes you can and try not to over cook them.

We always grill our scallops. Use a seafood basket so you don't have to worry about skewers. I like my scallops natural, though you can use the many different marinades they have in stores.
