Why can i no longer find canned applesauce in 16 oz cans?
i can't find any brand of 16 oz canned applesauce.......i need it for a cake recipe.......no, 2 cups doesn't work

Because the manufacturers found out that by changing to a smaller can or glass jar they could still charge the same price as the 16oz product. (many people did not even notice)
Locate your applesauce in glass jars, please, not cans.
Applesauce does not come in cans, at least around here is doesn't. You can most likely find it in glass or plastic jars. Worst comes to worst, you can measure your applesauce out on a scale. If you do not have a scale, then there is not much you can do...
