Answers:
taco's - that's what we are having tonight!
get a crockpot...you can cook an entire meal with minimal work involved...it just cooks all day long. A recipie book comes with it and you can also get another one. I suggest crockpot recpies with 5 ingredients or less.
mac and cheese
see macaroni box for recipe
Burritos: all you need are flour tortillas, cheese, and refried beans, salsa and lettuce optional. If your store has tostada shells you can use the same ingredients for tostadas.
Eggs! especially omelets.
Pasta with prepared sauces: pesto, red sauce, or alfredo are all available prepared--and a really good grocery store will have more.
Chef salad--use bag salad plus a little good meat and cheese from deli. Same for chicken salad except use chicken strips from meat dept or chicken fingers from deli/take out.
You could do sandwiches or ramen noodles. or possibly even t.v. dinners or grilled cheese and tomato soup. maybe even easy mac or the soup in a can that heats up in the micrawave. hope these help
ooh pollo peperoni au verde. chicken and green peppers.
Dice 4 chicken breasts
roast, skin, deseed and slice 5 peppers (doesnt matter what colour)
dice 600g deseeded and skinned tomatoes - de skin by cutting a cross in and putting in boiling water for a few seconds, the skin is easy to come off then
heat 2tbsp olive oil add 2 crushed garlic cloves when brown
add chicken and cook till brown all over
add 175ml dry white wine
let it evaporate stirring
add peppers and tomatoes
stir
simmer 20 mins on medium
the tomatoes produce the sauce add nothing else this is beautiful and simple
I agree with the person who suggested a crock-pot. Also, basic chicken is easy as is most pasta dishes. When ground meat is on sale you can get a lot, brown some to put into freezer for tacos, pasta sauce, etc., make meat loaf, burgers, or meatballs.
There are a ton of easy recipes online. Check out foodnetwork.com Look for recipes by Rachael Ray, Sandra Lee and Robin Miller. They are especially easy for new cooks.
Good luck and happy eating!
Get some cheeze whiz and some other things like olives or tuna and maybe some chopped onions - totally up to you - and mix up with perhaps a little milk or mayonnaise. Then toast some big thick slices of bread - or some average-size slices of wonder bread - totally up to you in a toaster oven or under the broiler, on some aluminum foil. Optional: slice some tomatoes and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper. Take the toasted bread, top with the tomato slice or slices, cover with the cheese gunk, put back under the broiler and heat it up so the whole thing is melty. You dont' even need that much cheese.
Eat right from the aluminum foil. Toss the foil No cleanup!
Ramen noodles are also quick and if you make them in a cup of noodles package, you can toss out the cup.
Buy frozen stir fry veggies when they are on sale and combine with your meat of choice, soy sauce and rice for a quick dinner. Spaghetti is always welcomed and the leftovers are even better the next day. Make beef stew with potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery in your oven in a roasting pan with beef broth and onion soup mix for 6-8 hours at 250 degrees. Try to think of cooking a big meal on a weekend and then you can have lots of leftovers during the week that are easy for you to heat up when you're busy with classes.
