Homemade onion rings????!

Question:

Homemade onion rings????

What is the easiest way to get the breading for making home made onion rings?

I have the deep fryer, and the onions ready, but I have no idea how to make a batter.
Will flour and bread crumbs be good?

I need something fast and easy.

Answers:
Flour, beer, salt and pepper, cayenne pepper...no eggs or breadcrumbs needed!

Some people just use pancake mix, maybe a bit of seasoning. Works.

flour eggs beer salt mix and dip

I would think flour and bread crumbs would work, but i don't really like homeade onion rings

McCormick's makes a bad asz batter..just add water...its near the fresh veggies at the store dude
check it out. this stuff is easy just add water mix batter then dip in onion rings drop into hot oil and BOOM it puffs up pretty

REAL EASY...tastes like you bought Chinese...

Flour and bread crumbs will work only if you dip the onion rings in egg mixed with a little milk first, then drench in the flour/bread crumb mixture. However, if you want batter dipped, go with the recipes of the others.

i would say did the onions in flour then in egg/milk mixture and then in the bread crumbs. the flour so the oinons dont burn and the egg mix will stick better and so will the bread crumbs yummy

Forget breadcrumbs. Best way is Seasoned flour(always season flour) then into butter milk, or regular milk if buttermilk not available, then back into the flour, then fry, only a few at a time, you don't want to overcrowd a fryer, because it can bring the tempature of the oil down, and you will have greasy rings, also they will stick together if over crowded, shake vigourously when placed in the oil, when removed season them immediatley while the oil will still absorb the salt (1st rule of frying always season immediatley after taking out of the oil), they are thin so high heat to get them crispy, 375. enjoy

you need to make a batter out of egg whites, salt, baking powder and flour. first whip the egg whites, until they are stiff. you can google the recipe for the amounts.

We butter up the bisquit pillsbury dough, and salted crumps of dried out wonder bread slices, and then deep fat fried. When done right, it's really good!
