Answers:
Its delicious, I make it for cupcakes all the time.
Heres my recipe:
1/4 cup butter, melted over low heat.
1/4 cup chocolate chips (semi sweet) melted into butter
1/4 cup cocoa powder (for more intense chocolate flavor use up to 1/2 cup!)
1 package cream cheese, softened
3-6 cups powdered sugar
beat butter and melted chocolate chips into cream cheese, add cocoa powder. Beat for 2 full minutes on medium speed. Gradually add powdered sugar. Should need at least 3 cups. Depending on the consistancy you would like, you can add up to 6 cups of powdered sugar.
Its delicious!
I think its better - smoother and not as sweet with a hint of chocolate
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. its sounds good with chocolate!
gummy bear frosting rocks!
The regular cream sheese frosting is amazing!
If you like chocolate, just go for it. you'll most likely enjoy it.
I just have had it last week, it matches so so good with my dark chocolate rum cake.
My recipe is
60 g unsalted butter melted
150g good quality bitter sweet chocolate
100g fresh cream
250g mascapone cheese
120g icing sugar (you may add more if you like it to be sweeter)
1) melt butter and bitter sweet chocolate in a bowl over steaming water (do not over heat the chocolate) till smooth, melt half of the icing sugar in the chocolate, remove and let cool a bit
2) beat mascapone cheese with half of the sugar till creamy, add fresh cream bit by bit in the cheese and beat till smooth.
3) Mix chocolate into the cheese mixture. toss to combine, put it into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
4) Bring the cheese mixture out and beat till the thickness you like and spread on your cake
