Stuffed chicken breast?!
Stuffed chicken breast?
im making stuffed chicken breast, and i was going to stuff it with mushrooms, tomotoe, cheese and maybe ham? does anyone think this would taste okay? and do i cooked the ham before i stuff it?
Answers:
It sounds delicious and I would cook it first I think.
I have a similar recipe where I cut a pocket into the breast (flatten it slightly first) then stuff it with Boursin cheese (garlicy/herby soft cheese). The I wrap the outside of the chicken up with overlapped pieces of proscuitto or parma ham so it is completely encased.
I then bake it in the oven at 180c for about 20 mins and towards the end of the cooking I add in a tomotoey pasta type sauce over and around the chicken (one with Italian herbs & flavours) and carry on baking for about 15 mins.
Serve this with roasted potatoes and steamed green beans - delicious.
sounds good to me, when is dinner?
Sounds good! I wouldn't think it would be necessary to cook the ham first, you will be cooking it when you cook the chicken.
Another idea that works really well: bacon, sun dried tomato and brie, my speciality!
it would taste perfect
Sounds great. I think you should be ok without cooking the ham first, when you cook the chicken it will cook through to the ham. another good stuffing is sun dried tomators, camembert cheese and rosemary, mmmmm
The tomato might make it runny.. Ham and cheese is better. Personally I would omit the tomato. You could always make sauteed mushrooms as a light sauce to finish the dish.
Your recipe sounds really good, if the ham is cooked or cured you don't need to cook it first. What time is dinner? I'll bring wine & dessert!
