I am looking for new idea's of what to put in my salad. I am tired of the same lettuce, tomato, cucumber and carrot mix. I want new idea's and flavors. Also, salad dressing idea's to go with them too. :-)

7 layer salad...
layer lettuce at the bottom of a deep bowl
layer peas on top of lettuce
bacon bits on top of peas
layer mayonnaise dressing on top of whole thing(mayo, water, lemon juice)
shredded cheese goes next
finally diced green onions
Okay, so mine only has 6 layers, I've seen recipes that calls for adding celery or mushrooms to make the 7th layer, but I don't care for either of those.
for dressing try olive oil and balsamic vinegar

I use a mixture of lettuces including spinach. I wash my lettuce and sprinkle the leaves slightly with a mix of onion and garlic mix. Mrs Dash works well also. I cut up tomato's, cucumber, bacon, cheese, croutons hard boiled egg, carrot and fried chicken. Personally my favorite dressing is Ole Charley's Honey Mustard but you cant get that here in Europe so I am trying to find a new one myself. ( real bacon not bacon bits it makes a huge difference)
1. cut up cucumber
2. Add corn from a can
3. add 1 chopped hard boiled egg
4. some carrots and olives
5. Add a teaspoon of mayo and a tablespoon of yogurt (yogurt enhances the flavor of mayo, so a little mayo goes a long way)
6. Add a little mustard and pepper

Feta cheese, oilves and greek dressing
My husband makes a killer taco salad. On top of bed of romaine, purple onion, cucumber and carrot, seasoned mexican beef, a bit of shredded cheddar cheese, peppers, sour cream, guacomole, crunched up corn toritillas with Kens italian dressing! YUM! Hommade guacamole is key.
Nuts of all kinds, walnuts, almonds, pecans.
I do a pasta/salad combo...
Any lettuce will work but remember that the darker greens have more nutrients. Wacky veggie mac - cooked then chilled - corn, green beans, olives, roasted red peppers, proscittuo (sp?), blanched asparagus chopped up (do the same for the green beans), feta cheese, and toss all with combo of the following made to taste: red wine vinegar, balsamic, white, olive oil salt & pepper, Mrs Dash Tomato, basil, garlic. Healthy, lite, deliciously pefect for summer.
Arrugula, Radicchio, and Roma Tomatoes with any type of balsamic vinaigrette.
