How does the meat and beans in Taco Bell taste so good?
The meat and beans in the store doesn't even come close, so what kind of meat is it anyway? I know the meat is frozen and comes in a bag and they boil it, same with the beans. So how can u make it just like them?
Answers:
The meat comes in tubes true, fresh not frozen. they dump it into a big pan and fry it up then they add a big bag of secret seasons. The beans they make from dried just as you would at home, but with a big block of lard. they drain them and add take a huge potato masher and start mashing them up adding water as needed.
At least this was how it was done in the early 80s
naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Actually it really isn't, Its only good one or another
They ground the meat very well while cooking until it is nearly minced then they keep it steamed and simmering all day. The longer you cook your meat the better the flavor will be. Too often a pkg mix will suggest you simmer for only 10 mins and serve which isn't nearly long enough. Like many seasoned foods they always taste best the day after. So the longer you keep it simmering the better. Try cooking your beef in the morning and then allowing it to simmer til dinner in a crockpot while stirring and mincing periodically that day.
Try the following recipe.
1. Take 1 onion (for 1 lb minced meat)
2. On a skillet/crock pot heat up cooking oil
3. Add the onion.
4. As the onion turn light brown add the meat
5. Add cinnamon, 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon ginger, salt, 1 cup tomato paste/puree
6. Cook for 35 minutes, checking every 5 minutes
7. If gets dry add 1 cup of boiling water (each time it gets dry)
8. After 35 minutes has passed add 1 can of bean, 1 can of salsa (type depends on what you like) and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
9. Cook for 5-10 minutes (do not add any more water)
10. ENJOY
Taco Hell adds salmonella to their meat and e coli to their beans.
