Best Bread Machine Bread
This recipe is easy and foolproof. It makes a very soft and tasty loaf of bread with a flaky crust
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 Tbs white sugar
1 (.25 ounce) package bread machine yeast
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
Place the water, sugar and yeast in the pan of the bread machine. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes. Add the oil, flour and salt to the yeast. Select Basic or White Bread setting, and press Start.
Yield: 1 - 1 1/2 pound loaf.
Buttermilk Honey Wheat Bread
A very nice whole wheat bread with the taste of honey. Great right out of the oven.
2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 Tbs honey
1 1/2 Tbs vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups buttermilk, at room temperature
1 Combine the yeast, whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, baking soda, salt, honey, oil, and buttermilk into pan of a bread machine.
2 If baking in bread machine use medium temperature setting.
3 If baking in an oven, use manual or dough cycle to knead dough. Remove from bread maker, and place in a greased loaf pan. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F (175 degree C) oven for 25 minutes, or until bottom of loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
Sweet Dinner Rolls
This dough makes wonderful dinner rolls but can also be used to make cinnamon rolls. Mixing it in your bread machine but bake the rolls in the oven. They're light, soft and sweet.
1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1/2 cup warm milk
1 egg
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 Place water, milk, egg, 1/3 cup butter, sugar, salt, flour and yeast in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Dough/Knead and First Rise Cycle; press Start.
2 When cycle finishes, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a 12 inch circle, spread 1/4 cup softened butter over entire round. Cut each circle into 8 wedges. Roll wedges starting at wide end; roll gently but tightly. Place point side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Cover with clean kitchen towel and put in a warm place, let rise 1 hour. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
3 Bake in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden.

Outback Steakhouse's Bushman Bread
For dough:
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 Tbs butter, softened
1/2 cup honey
2 cups bread flour
1 2/3 cups wheat flour
1 Tbs cocoa
1 Tbs granulated sugar
2 tsp instant coffee
1 tsp salt
2 1/4 tsp (1 pkg.) yeast
For coloring:
1/4 cup water
75 drops red food coloring
45 drops blue food coloring
30 drops yellow food coloring
cornmeal for dusting
1 If using a bread machine, add all of the ingredients for the dough in the exact order listed into the pan of your machine. Set it on "knead" and when the machine begins to mix the dough, combine the food coloring with ? cup of water and drizzle it into the mixture as it combines. After the dough is created let it rest to rise for an hour or so. Then remove it from the pan and go to step #3.
2 If you are not using a bread machine, combine the flours, cocoa, sugar, coffee and salt in large bowl. Make a depression or "well" in the middle of the dry mixture. Pour the warm water into this "well," then add the butter, honey and yeast. Combine the food coloring drops with ? cup of water and add that to the "well." Slowly mix the ingredients with a spoon, drawing the dry ingredients into the wet. When you can handle the dough, begin to combine it by hand, kneading the dough thoroughly for at least ten minutes, until it is very smooth and has a consistent color. Set the dough into a covered bowl in a warm place for an hour, to allow it to rise.
3 When the dough has risen to about double in size, punch it down and divide it into 8 even portions (divide dough in half, divide those halves in half, and then once more). Form the portions into tubular shaped loaves about 8 inches long and 2 inches wide. Sprinkle the entire surface of the loaves with cornmeal and place them on a cookie sheet, or two. Cover the cookie sheet(s) with plastic wrap and let the dough rise once more for another hour in a warm location.
4 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Uncover the dough and bake it for 20-24 minutes in the hot oven. Loaves should begin to darken slightly on top when done. Serve warm with a sharp bread knife and butter on the side. If you want whipped butter, like you get at the restaurant, just use an electric mixer on high speed to whip some butter until it's fluffy.

I mke this one all the time..
1 cup water warm not hot
1 Tablespoon oil
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/12 teaspoon salt
3 1/12 cups white flour
2 teaspons yeast
add water to maker
add oil, sugar salt
add flour, make dent to add yeast.
Set bread maker to dough only
after the dough is ready, turn it out on floured surface and knead a couple times just enough to keep the dough from being to sticky.
Divide in to rolls, I usually get about a dozen smaller rolls ar 8 sandwich sized rolls. Or shape into a french loaf.
brush the top of the dough with a bit of warm very salty water
Let rise in warm place till double in size.. bake at 400 degress 15-20 minutes.
These rolls always rise well, its simple to make and although they do get a bit heavy after a few days they still are great for toasting.
