What should I serve with chicken?!

Question:

What should I serve with chicken?

Easy Garlic Chicken

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1/4 cup butter
6 cloves crushed garlic
2 cups seasoned dry bread crumbs
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a small saucepan melt butter/margarine with garlic. Dip chicken pieces in butter/garlic sauce, letting extra drip off, then coat completely with bread crumbs.
Place coated chicken in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Combine any leftover butter/garlic sauce with bread crumbs and spoon mixture over chicken pieces. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

I had pasta for dinner last night.
I'll probably serve it with rice, but what should I do to make the rice taste good, not bland?

What type of rice?
What type of sides?

Source(s):
personal experience

rice with safron

wild rice
green beans and pudding for dessert

corn

1 1/2 pounds is about 3 to 4 breast halves depending upon size.

Sides:
Asparagus
Brocolli
Green beans sauteed with butter and garlic

Rice - cook with butter and chicken broth instead of plain water.

Get 2 pkgs of the Rice a Roni garic wild rice, then prepare with field peas & snaps, steamed green beans & homemade cornbread.......A southern girl's dream........Don't forget the sweet tea!!

Mashed potatoes and Gravy
Cole slaw
Corn
Buttermilk buiscuits
Veggies
Beer
Potatoe salad
BBQ ribs
Fries

I have tried a dirty rice mix that Rice a Roni makes that goes well with chicken dishes. Some steamed mushrooms sautade in garlic butter is a good side.

Had chicken for dinner last night. Served baked potato/sour cream cabbage/spinach stirfry with some garlic, chillies and ginger added for seasonings

I'd suggest wild rice or long grain rice and add to it some bell peppers (if you like peppers) that should add some extra flavor, or you could just add soya sauce to it and some pineapple sauce or cherry or even sweet and sour sauce...make it like an asian type dish to go with your chicken. sides? baby cut carrots, sugar snap peas, any chinese veg like daikon.
