When scientists grow cultures in petri dishes, they need what you need. They use Agar and Gellan:tasteless, odorless texture.
You can get agar in sheets (and sometimes powder) at your local asian market. Agar is a seaweed based alginate that does beautifully if gelatin isn't your thing. It isn't harder to use than regular gelatin. The package may say AGAR AGAR. That's what you want. That's enough info for you to get started.
If you want a firmer texture or you want to serve it hot, you can get an ingredient called gellan gum. It's something you could use on its own, but I recommend mixing maybe 1 part to three with agar.
You're going to be really happy to meet agar!
Don't eat jello?! haha
Popsicles
Pudding
agar agar, it's a natural seaweed extract that sets liquids.
Agar-agar is available at healthfood stores, or, usually cheaper, at Asian markets. It's made of seaweed and it gelatinizes well enough. You cannot just substitute it! You'll have to play with it a bit until you figure out how to use it in place of regular gelatin.
One thing that's totally different that we made as kids were just frozen juice mini-pops. You fill an ice-cube tray with fruit pulp (blender) or juice and add toothpicks. Frozen fruit + blender + (soy) yogurt is pretty tasty, too.
Custard. Good luck!
Pudding or yogurt could be used but they won't have the firmness of gelatin.
There isnt really anything you can substitute for jello. I would look for Juice popcicles or friut salads make with whipping cream. Good Luck!!!
fruit, jelly, jam, pudding?
Why NOT???
You believe that after boiling, dehydrating and grinding SOME products (like Jello and Knox) Is NOT pure enough for some god to accept as clean??
Roman culture has no place here today.
And religious dictatorship cannot be accepted in the light of freedom.
