Baked beans, coleslaw, pasta salad and tater salad would be good and you can make them ahead. They are not expensive to make either !I would make cakes for dessert you can make that ahead too ! What shall I bring ? lol

Potato salad, macaroni salad, salmon, flank steaks, shish kabobs (veggie & meat), baked potatoes, grilled stuffed mushrooms....now I'm hungry :) Have fun.

sausage..the cheapest meat!!

You can make just about anything ahead of time and heat it up on the BBQ grill in a tin restaurant pan. Example is BBQ beef or Pork - Cook beef or pork roast in a crock pot mix in BBQ sauce, then reheat on a BBQ grill in the tin pan. Add some sliced pickles, chips, dip, beans and they you go a easy fast BBQ for the masses.

try grilling fruit like pineapple, peaches the sugar in the fruit will caramelize and make it wonderful. also try kielbasa or any other sausage to compliment any other meat you may have. grill corn on the grill it is wonderful. make a simple salad of tomatoes burp less cucumbers and onions with olive oil balsamic winger salt pepper and a small amount of sugar.

How about this idea... a fruit kabob. No no, stay with me - there are certain fruits which caramelize nicely on a grill which can really improve their taste. It's sweet, cheap, and your guests have probably never seen it.

Good fruits to grill...
Whole: Peaches, Mangoes, Plums (firmer varieties), Bananas
On a Kabob: Pineapple, Pears, Apples (maybe)

If you're adventurous, marinate them in cinnamon and brown sugar beforehand, and have vanilla ice cream on hand.

slaw potatoes salad baked beans

hot and mild link sausage, chicken legs and thighs, hot wings, pork steaks, (they have more meat than pork chops and cheaper than regular steaks), baby back ribs, three bean salads are great, cole slaw, have some dip platters (carrots, celery , green onions, with and assortment of dips( onion, garlic, cheese, salmon, pineapple, etc) and assorted crackers and chips(flavored and reg.) for snacking before the food is done. Individual jello cups with nuts and or berries in the jello, as well as plain (also, offer options of whipped cream or cottage cheese with these). Make a large pot of chili( goes great with all the meat especially the links ). Spagetti, also works equally as well, you can have one or both. You can have enchiladas (a couple of large pans, and or lasagna, buy french bread it is thicker, goes farther and soaks up grease better, you can buy the long rolls and slice it or the pkgs of 8-12(depending on size). macroni salad and or patatoe salad, always a winner. Buy jumbo sizes of beverages or off brands.
I don't know that much about alcohol( I wouldn't serve any to your guest that will be driving home. You can make a great punch using assorted juices and popsicles(just remove the popcicles from their sticks a few minutes before serving, and have them floating in the drink), you can break them up if you like. also make flavored ice cubes, so when they melt the punch will not be watery. I hope these few suggestions will be of some help to you.

Bon apetite
