this one is yummy and easy to make...

Pudding Icing

1 envelope Topping mix, such as Dream Whip
1 -- 4 ounce box of Instant Pudding Mix, any flavour

Semi Sweet Chocolate, Heavy Cream and Sugar - Beat the hell out of it - Thickens as you beat!

Define "complicated" ingredients.

The fact is that ingredients are ingredients, and there is nothing complicated about them.

Buy it at the store :)

This is the Chocolate Buttercream Frosting recipe from Wilton:

Ingredients:

* 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening (a.k.a. Crisco)
* 1/2 cup butter or margarine
* 3/4 cup cocoa or three 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate squares, melted
* 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
* 4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar (approx. 1 lb.) (a.k.a. Powdered Sugar or Icing Sugar)
* 3-4 tablespoons milk
* Light corn syrup**

Cream shortening and butter with electric mixer. Add cocoa and vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to use.

Darker Chocolate Icing: Add 1 additional unsweetened chocolate square (or ? cup sifted cocoa powder) and 1 additional tablespoon of milk to Chocolate Buttercream Icing.

Chocolate Mocha Icing: Substitute freshly brewed strong coffee for milk in recipe.

For a unique change of pace, use 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon Wilton Candy Flavors in place of vanilla extract.

For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not in use.

Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored 2 weeks. Rewhip before using.

YIELD: 3 cups

**Add 3-4 tablespoons light corn syrup per recipe to thin for icing cake.

I thought frosting was the same as icing...
Icing sugar (confectioners sugar)
Cocoa
Butter
Water.
Only a tablespoon or so of butter for a cakes worth of icing, the other ratios you can figure out.

the easiest chocolate frosting recipes I have are:
depending on how much you need;
#1 shortening frosting
2 cups shortening
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
add cocoa powder to taste..
blend well..

#2 Butter frosting
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups softened butter
add cocoa to taste..
easy..just takes a few minutes, you can add more powdered sugar and or more cocoa to get it to your exact taste.. Good luck and God bless..

Easiest is just a little bit of melted butter, a cup of icing sugar and a cup of cocoa powder and hot water to make it to the consistency you like.
Or chocolate melted with cream is simple (to make ganache)
