Potato salad question?!
Potato salad question?
I made potato salad last night and I noticed the potatoes were sort of crunchy. I guess I didn't cook it all the way. If I leave the potato salad in the fridge with all the stuff on it, will it get softer?
Answers:
You must cook the potatoes all the way until a knife pokes right through them. Then you can add all the other ingredients to for a tasty salad. If you leave it in the fridge its still be crunchy.
i wouldn't think so, the potatoes are done cooking.
no they won't trust me. I was in a hurry last week and picked up some from Kroger and they were not cooked and they never did get softer. I took them back
I would guess it wouldn't. I'm not an expert on salads though.
In the true sense no. If you leave it in there and it does get softer then it is spoiling.Next time try pokeing potatoes with fork to make sure they are done. The crunchy salad won't hurt you tho.
Not if you didnt cook them until they were done. If you like warm potato salad you might put in in a bowl and put into the microwave. But I like to eat mine warm.
it depends how long you leave it in there for...
it might not
so i consider you let the patotos boil longer
then mix everything together then leave it in the fridge
no
Theywill get a little softer on the outside of the pieces, but notall the way through.
My husband prefers warmer potato salad so he microwaves the salad on his plate.
German potatoe salad is sometimes served warm. Check the recipe for that and see if yours is close enough to try it. It is cooked in a fry pan. Try cooking it .
Just sitting in the frig won't do it. If it's just a little underdone, you can throw it in the microwave for a few minutes (covered)and it should finish cooking the potatoes.
No, they aren't going to soften in the frid. Sometimes if the potatoes are diced small enough, the hardness is less noticeable.
For future reference, I only use the loose baking potatoes for my potato salad. I would use red potatoes if I had to, but I prefer the baking ones. Never get the pre-bagged ones for $2.99. They are not quality potatoes and never seem to cook properly.
Those potatos are not done at all. I think that you should just start all over.
No. If the spuds are at all edible, serve it to your family and say it's a new recipe.
No but if you haven't mixed your stuff you can boil then a little longer ???
Remember to test, stick your spuds for doneness.
My moms best friend fixed the potatoes salad when staying with us for state fair time.
She did the dinner potato salad just after breakfast and her last cold rinse was a splash if white wine vinegar before refrigerating them several hours before assembling after lunch.
I would toss it out and start all over honestly
No.
No they will not. Just remember to cook them a little longer next time. Have a Blessed day! :)
