Answers:
I make a potato salad with boiled new potatoes, chicken, boiled eggs all sliced and mixed into coleslaw.

Potato and salad!!!
How basic is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

potato's sliced in chunks boiled (do not over boil)
eggs boiled
mayo/miracle whip (depending on what you like better)
tiny bit of mustard (to taste)
salt/pepper (to taste)
Very simple recipe... you can add pickles or cucumbers
some people add peas
good luck that is my all time favorite!

the basics to me are Miracle Whip, Mustard, Salt and pepper of course and then I like to throw in some very crisp bacon, pimentos, boiled eggs and maybe any leftovers in the frig

Potatoes, red onions, celery, black olives, cut up dill pickles, hard boiled eggs, mayonnaise, small amount of yellow mustard, garlic salt, salt, pepper, seasoned salt (small amount)

They all forgot garlic and a little parika.

one potato

and a lettuce leaf.

basic as it gets!

no seriously i dont know, is it mayo thats in it and onions/chives?

I just know the basic:

10 potatoes, big, diced (cooked)
250g. / 8.8 oz. mayonnaise (less fat)
75 ml. all purpose cream
7 tbsp. iodized salt
2 dash of pepper

First, add the potatoes in a large bowl, then add the mayannoise, follow with the other ingredients!

for me it's quite delicious.. hope you'll like the basic potato salad!

The easiest way to make it is
boil your potatoes, get a box of pasta salad from the grocery store (the kind w/ dried pasta & the flavor packet) and use the flavor packet on your potatoes, add a little mayo or mustard whichever you like, and veggies, eggs, bacon - whatever sounds good to you

boiled potatoes, mayo and salt and pepper.

Cold boiled potatoes, mayonnaise mixed with some greek yogurt & chopped spring onions or chives. Seasoning to taste. Chunks of hard boiled egg for slightly fancier - can be cooked in the same water as the potato.....

boil some small new potatoes drain well, cut in half add light mayonaise if you wish you can chop up some spring onions, add them to potatoes, mix all together sprinkle with basil.

I use the idaho type of potato because I feel it makes the best salad. I boil them with the skins on. While they are still warm I peel off the skin using my fingers. Then I cube them into a big bowl. I add hard boiled eggs, chopped celery, onion and bell pepper. Season with salt, pepper and mix in mayonnaise and a small amount of mustard. If you mix while the potatoes are still warm it make the flavor that much better. That is BASIC potato salad. If you want to, and I normally do, I mix in a little sour cream so that the mayo isn't too heavy.

Potatoes peeled, diced, & boiled til just fork tender. Drain & cool, then add boiled eggs - chopped, mustard, mayo, finely chopped onion (optional), garlic powder, sweet pickle relish or chopped green olives, salt & pepper and for some extra kick I like to add a little horseradish.....Mix together & chill in fridge before serving. For a pretty dish, sprinkle with paprika before serving.

German potato salad

6 large Potatoes
2 tablespoons Salad Cream
80ml Double Cream
Black PepperSalt
1 tablespoon White Wine Vinegar
2 tblsp Oil
1/2 tsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Mustard
150ml hot Vegetable or chicken Stock

Boil the potatoes, in their skins, until just tender. The time this will take depends on the size of the potatoes. When done, rinse in cold water and allow to cool slightly.

In the meantime, mix all the remaining ingredients except the stock in a large bowl.

When the potatoes have cooled a little, remove the skins and slice them into the bowl.

Add the stock and mix well. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve while still slightly warm.

Irish Potato Salad

2 lbs baking potatoes
2tblsp red wine vinegar
3 medium sweet onion, diced
3 hard-boiled eggs, roughly chopped
salt & fresh ground pepper
1cup mayonnaise

The magic is to use baking potatoes, fresh cooked, skin on, peeled, and diced while still warm and sprinkled with just enough red wine vinegar to enhance the potato taste. Chopped celery, sweet onion and hard boiled eggs add texture and flavor. The mayonnaise, mixed with the crumbled potato and egg yolk resuts in a creamy, dreamy salad. For the really - really best potato salad, make this an hour or two before serving, cover, let stand at room temp. - then add the mayonnaise mixture.

With either recipe I find that adding a few finely chopped shallots works wonders.

This is the best potato salad recipe: I have been making for 17 years, all compliments. (A family recipe)

2 1/2 lbs. Idaho or Maine potatoes, peeled, cut up
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup mayonnaise
1 small green bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped
1 small onion, peeled, finely chopped
1/3 cup finely chopped fresh parsley (optional)
3 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Rinsed potatoes, place in large saucepan with enough water to cover. Add tablespoon salt, bring to boil and simmer until tender (about 20 minutes or more depending on size of potatoes.) One thing, DO NOT OVERCOOK potatoes. They should not be mushy. Drain potatoes and rinse under cool water. In large glass bowl, combine mayonnaise, bell pepper, onion, parsley, eggs, salt and pepper. Add potatoes and mix well. Chill potatoes and serve.

This recipe goes great with fried chicken, pork chops.
serves 8

Scrub & boil a bunch of potatoes. Boil 6-12 eggs (depending on how much potatoes you make.)

Cube the potatoes (I like to leave the jackets on.) Cut the eggs into quarters. If you like egg yolks, chop them up a bit & add them to the cubed potatoes. (I don't like egg yolks, so I take them out (separate bowl) and cut up only the egg whites. Add some chopped onion (if you like) or scallions (yum!) to the potatoes and onions. Pour some vinegar over the mixture & stir. Let it cool a bit.

Make a dressing: a bit of mayo, a bit of sour cream or FF greek yogurt, a squeeze of lemon, half of the egg yolks you separated from the whites after cooking, some salt & pepper and mix well. If you like crunchy stuff in your egg salad, add picalilly or relish. Pour dressing over potato mixture & stir well. If you like something a little different, add some crumbled bacon and/or a bit of blue cheese. So good!

Serve immediately (a little warm) or ice cold.

about 2 cups of boiled potatoes (use older ones, new potatoes don't make good salad) about 6 hardboiled eggs, peeled...

mash the taters and five of the eggs in a bowl, add about 3/4 cup of hellman's mayo...and about a 1/8 cup of green onion, if desired.

smooth the salad in the bowl, decorate with the leftover egg and some red paprika

step 1: Get some potatoes (preferably boiled)
step 2: Open up a pack of salad from the supermarket.
step 3: put both the potatoes and salad in a suitably sized bowl shake and vol-la. Basic potato salad!

for a quick and easy potato salad i use tinned new potatoes ;cut in to quarters;chopped chives and mayo its lovely cheap and easy

The most important thing for an excellent potato salad is Best Foods Mayo!!

cubed cooked potatos
best foods
eggs- boiled peeled shredded

Dont put too much mayo, and if you can make salad one day before, it always tastes better the next day!

boil potatoes then cube them after cooling, add diced boiled eggs, tablespoon of onion relish, salt, black pepper to taste, that's it easy and delicious, if you like you can add a small amount of diced celery and/or american mustard

cold boiled potatos, boiled eggs, all cut up, mixed with light mayo, copped up spring onions and a little balsamic vinegar.. simple yet Delicious!

I make mine with boiled Jersey new potatoes, peeled after boiling, chopped into chunks and covered with sour cream or fromage frais while still warm. Incorporate chopped chives (garlic chives if you can get them - I grow my own herbs) and some chopped dill weed. Refrigerate - Perfect! doesn't need any extras.
