Spaghetti sauce?!

Question:

Spaghetti sauce?

I have a jar of Spaghetti in my cupboard(its in a glass jar) - mushroom and olives that is dated 2006. Is it still good?

thanks

Answers:
Nope. Tomatoes have a short shelf-life.

it's probably ok.... but i wouldn't chance it.

I would check the expiration date on the outside of the jar. If it was homemade and canned for you, I'd think it would be only good for about 4 months.

As long as you hear the seal pop when you open it, it should be fine.

To be extra careful, heat the sauce to 160 degrees before you eat it - bring to a simmer in a pan and stir well to make sure it's heated thoroughly.

Yeah, it is still good. to be on the safe side, smell and taste a little, if good then EAT...

The validity date usually guides you. But one can use it even if it's a month over. How about making it yourself? It's easy. I have the recipe.

The jar should have an expiration date on it. Find it, and you'll have your answer. When in doubt, however, don't take a chance... although it is likely fine. Better safe than sorry.

I would not use it.

Is the lid intact and the vacuum OK>??
answer YES
the "Date" is the store's date to remove to get a refund.
Check the MFG's web site to question

If the expiration date is 2006, I wouldn't risk it.
