Were Ritz crackers used in the first cheesecake crust?!

Question:

Were Ritz crackers used in the first cheesecake crust?

My boyfriend swears that the first cheesecake crusts were originally made with Ritz crackers/butter crackers, not graham. is this true?

Answers:
History has the first recorded mention of cheesecake as being served to the athletes during the first Olympic Games held in 776 B.C. and they didn't have Ritz crackers or graham crackers back then. So no, it's not true.

No, it was graham crackers that were used with cheesecake.
They only switched to Ritz because it was a Depression era recipe and they were cheaper.

That doesn't sound like a very delicious cheesecake.
