I know this sounds stupid but what is fudge??!

Question:

I know this sounds stupid but what is fudge??

i know, a bit dumb, but like in recipes and stuff its like "chocolate fudge cake" and its just chocolate! so is fudge just chocolate?? or what?

Answers:
Death by chocolate, if it is made right.

a type of chocolate, thicker.

yes...its chocolate...it's almost like a chocolate frosting...but it's not frosting...i used to get the hershey kind in a brown box thingy...google it and see what it is for yourself cuz i cant describe it any better than that...

it reminds me of sot toffee i fink but its like a sweet fing u can get on holiday

I think it's mostly butter and sugar.

Fudge is a candy based on butter and sugar. Chocolate is one flavor of fudge. When you see fudge listed as in fudge cake - it is meant to describe the buttery sweetness and a gooey texture - like a fudge. Hope this make sense...

fudge can be a lot of different flavors. But it is candy..... not cake.

1st of all,no question is stupid. It's how we learn.
"Fudge" in the U.S. is usually understood to be chocolate. In fact, the word fudge is used on packaging of cakes and brownies with "extra" chocolate flavoring or with fluid chocolate in the mixture.

Hope I helped out!

Yes
go get a cook book.

Fudge is a confection which delights the mouth like chocolate, it comes in many flavours; chocolate, rum and raison, brandy, vanilla etc. etc.

Fudge is firm to eat, but not hard, nor is it soft, it has a similar texture to room temprature cheddar cheese when you break it.

It's made with condensed milk and brown sugar and is very nice.Have you never had the "finger of fudge" made by Cadburys@?

fudge is like a mixture of toffee and chocolate. well, that's what it tastes like to me anyway :s

kinda like chocolate frosting but way thicker
its a type of candy

fudge isn't chocolate its a type of confectionery that can come in chocolate flavour as well, its very sweet and buttery and very very nice. the Scottish are the best at making it, so if you;re in Scotland make sure you don't miss out on buying a pack of local fudge! the whisky or brandy flavours are the most recommended....
