That burger was at McCormick's and Schmidt in Beverly Hills.

It was made from ground Kobe beef. I had it when I took my parents there when they visited me last year.

I chose it because I wanted to try Kobe beef, and there is no price limit when taking Mom and Dad to lunch!

In n Out has a better burger. I was not impressed by the $24 burger.

The quality of the meat used must be out out of this world! Either that or it is a 10lb hamburger as opposed to the usual quarter-pounder!

That better be one heck of a burger!

this must be in france.

it's probably regular, but they just added a green leaf to the top of it.. There are many restaurants that do that and charge tons more.

The quality of meat is higher. Probably sirloin, tenderloin. Frankly, a lot of the scrap from the other cuts of meat used. Often, 8 oz (half pound) is the size.

And, to be honest, they charge that because they can. Part of it is if their entrees are $30+, having a burger for only $12 would stand out. Also, it is where they can make a little more money. A restaurant has pretty small profit margins (maybe 5%), with food cost a major reason behind that. By making a larger profit on a burger with a clientele that is willing to shell that money out, they can afford a smaller margin on other plates - in other word, it subsidized more expensive ingredients used elsewhere.
