How long would a marinated chicken breast take to grill?
Chicken breasts marinated in a little olive oil, soy sauce, crushed clove of garlic and chopped ginger. Will they cook ok under an ordinary grill? How long will they take to cook thoroughly?
Answers:
If the grill is hot I would say about 4- 5 minutes on each side under an ordinary grill. In spite of what you read in the news I dont think that chicken has to be well done and dry. It would take even less time if you pounded it a little bit first. Enjoy your meal.

If you are grilling them, I would say about 7 minutes a side. I have gas grill and they cook fast. You don't want to over cook or under cook.
it will take about 8-10 minutes to cook said chicken breast if you follow these instructions:
place chicken presentation side down (presentation side is the side where the skin used to be [the smoother side]) on the grill so as where the grates of the grill run from top to bottom of the chicken. cook for two minutes and then turn (not flip) the chicken 45 degrees in either direction. cook for another 2 minutes. flip the chicken and place it so as the grill marks line up with the grates of the grill. again, cook for two minutes. once again, turn (not flip) the chicken 45 degrees so as the other grill marks line up with the grates of the grill. cook for a final 2 minutes. take the chicken off the heat and enjoy with a ginger glaze and a slice of lemon
so many variables - the thickness of the meat, bone - temp of the fire - etc
when the juices run clear is a good answer, but with chicken you must worry about salmonella - so use a meat thermometer to ensure meat is up to temp. remember that the temp will increase by maybe 10degrees after you take it off the grill - also let the meat rest for minimum 10 minutes after removing from grill before you eat, to let the juices re-distribute in the meat.
have you tried to brine your chicken before cooking it? i am experimenting now with brines and my preliminary results are that it does make for a juicier bird!
good luck!
