Check out Tasteofhome.com they have awesome recipes and I know that the recipe for funnel cakes is in there because my mother gives me her quick cooking magazines and I've seen it. (quick cooking has a new name now but I cant remember.....but its still by taste of home.)

Note the piping bag Tip size, if you don't use a piping bag a funnel with the smallest tip is the one to use, anything to large will just be, as Alton would say " Not Good Eats"

Funnel Cake

Ingredients:
1 cup water
3/4 stick butter (6 tablespoons)
1 tablespoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
1 cup eggs, about 4 large eggs and 2 whites
Vegetable oil, for frying
Powdered sugar, for topping

Prep:
Boil water, butter, sugar, and salt together in a saucepan. Add flour and work it in until it is all incorporated and dough forms a ball. Transfer mixture to the bowl of a standing mixer and let cool for 3 to 4 minutes. With mixer lowest speed, add eggs, 1 at a time, making sure the first egg is completely incorporated before continuing. Once all eggs have been added and mixture is smooth, put dough in a piping bag fitted with a number 12 tip. Heat about 1 1/2 inches of oil in a heavy pan. Pipe dough into oil, making a free-form lattice pattern; cook until browned, flipping once. Remove cake from oil, drain on paper towels, and top with powdered sugar. Continue until all of the batter is used.

Funnel Cake

INGREDIENTS
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups vegetable oil
1/4 cup confectioners' sugar

DIRECTIONS
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the eggs and the milk. Add flour mixture to the egg mixture, and beat with a mixer until smooth. The consistancy should be thin enough to run through a small kitchen funnel. Test it, and if it is too thick beat in a little more milk; if too thin, beat in a bit more flour.
In an eight inch skillet, heat the oil to 360 degrees F (182 degrees C).
Put your finger over the bottom opening of the funnel, and fill the funnel with a generous 1/2 cup of the batter. Hold the funnel close to the surface of the oil, and release the batter into the oil while making a circular motion. Fry until golden brown. Use tongs and wide spatula to turn the cake over carefully. Fry the second side one minute. Drain on paper towels, and sprinkle with sifted confectioners' sugar.
