Chocolate Covered Strawberries?!

Question:

Chocolate Covered Strawberries?

hi! i was wondering just what is the best chocolate to use?

Answers:
Dolci Fruta. It comes in it's own microwaveable container, too! It's so easy and tastes great!! They have milk and white chocolate.

belgin (sp)

Ghirardeli from San Francisco is what I use. It's available everywhere and melts great. Godiva is also a good choice. They even sell them freshly made.

If you want to impress and be different, use white chocolate. It tastes great and will definitely be noticed. If you want to be traditional, use German chocolate. Stay away from semi-sweet. This is used for mainly for cooking.

Ghirardelli, semi-sweet.

dark and rich milky goodness!

The first poster meant Belgian. It does not matter the nationality; although some countries do have a name for chocolate. You can use any good quality baking chocolate for that matter.

I think the best chocolate is Droste from The Netherlands.

Use the chocolate they sell in bricks in the baking aisle- it isn't baker's chocolate though. It's the brown chocolate version of "Almond Bark". If you can't find it at the grocery store ask someone who works there. It's very common.
To thin it for dipping only use solid shortening. Never add a DROP of water- don't even stir it with a spoon you just rinsed off. It ruins the chocolate.
Make sure you dry the strawberries thoroughly after washing them for the same reason. Dip the strawberries or pretzel rods or whatever and set down on wax paper to dry.
Just make sure you don't get ANY water in the chocolate.

Any chocolate which contains more then 70% cocoa solids. It will stick well to the strawberries as it is lower in fat and the ever so slightly bitter taste will compliment the sweetness of the fruit... ENJOY!!!

Xocia Nuggets, melted in a chocolate fondue pot ... great for strawberries, bananas, apples, pineapple ... and it is HEALTHY CHOCOLATE to boot !!! check it out ... www.becauseilovechocolate.com
