Garlic bread or bread and butter

Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting

The best meal I ever had?
Well, I love buffets. They have everything there and keeps my stomach satisfied. But my favorite *meal* would have to be Cheese ravioli, garlic bread, lemon seasoned green beans and meatball from Buca di Bepo :]

open faced chicken loaf.....same as meat loaf but instead of meat use chicken...serve on fresh french bread (new orleans style) or hoagie bread (up north) with steaming hot brown gravy....easy and great tasting.

pork ribs with stuffing inbetween two racks,,baked with lots of herbs,,,,,simply awesome!!!

Chicken Fettuchini

is good but the best
is McDonalds

go to the bathroom and make something brown

I'd have to say the laredo steak from max and erma's. It was the best. They put cactus juice on the steak and serve it with a fresh side salad.

my best home meal: chicken and dumplings

I took an old roast and fryed it well on both sides using bacon grease and then added some water to the pan and then tossed in some chopped peppers and onions and let dat cook down ok? and then I added some chopped potatoes and let that get tender and done and I skimmed off the grease from the top and put that grease into a small pan ad heated it up and tossed in some coliflour and brok i had frozen and a littlebit chinese veggies ok? and let that rock on and then I drank a beer or two and ate and came over here to answer questions

Gingerbread with Hot Caramel Sauce
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup dark molasses
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
2 cups flour
1 cup boiling water
2 eggs, separated
Powdered sugar, to garnish
Whipped cream, to garnish

SAUCE:
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter (no margarine)
2 heaping tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash of salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup boiling water

PREPARE:
In a large bowl, mix molasses, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Add sugar, butter, flour and boiling water. Stir in beaten egg yolks. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter. Pour into a greased ring mold or Bundt pan. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 40 minutes or until done.
Cool.

Turn gingerbread out onto a cake stand and sift powdered sugar over the top. Serve with hot caramel sauce and whipped cream.

For sauce: In a medium saucepan, combine sugars with melted butter and stir until sugars are dissolved. Add flour, stirring constantly over medium heat. Add vanilla, salt and nutmeg. Add boiling water. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring sauce until thickened. Serve over gingerbread
or pool beneath. The caramel sauce is also good over pound cake or ice cream.

I can't say what the best meal I have ever eaten is, as I am the cook. So for me to get the chicken or steak or roast just right it is the best.

My preference is Salmon Steaks as they are just a little easier than Salmon Fillets to cook, they are normally the same thickness and are not tapered like the fillet.

Salmon Fillets.
Lightly salt fillet. Place a knob of butter on a medium high heat, ribbed fry pan, and when it stops sizzling add fillet skin side down.
As it cooks you will see it changing colour and when it is about 1/3 cooked, carefully turn.
Cook until a further 1/3 is cooked and remove to a warmed plate and cover with foil.
Add some more butter and some fresh herbs:-
Fennel: for an aniseed taste.
Mint.
Parsley.
Let cook for a few minutes and remove from heat. The cast iron will keep it warm .

With that you could do green bean sweetcorn or peas and mashed potatoes

bouillabaise

My mother in law cooked a dish of Mahi Mahi with a fruit dressing that was absolutely the best but she doesn't have the recipe anymore. I love a salmon baked with lemon slices and garlic in the oven wrapped in tin foil, served with rice and steamed broccoli

chinese

Cornish game hens.
Using the Reynold baking bags (the plastic ones), follow the directions in the package, except add a teaspoon of chicken boullion granules & half cup of water to the flour & mix before adding the birds. Serve with baked potatoes & salad.
