Is Top Ramen Noodle soup bad for you?!

Question:

Is Top Ramen Noodle soup bad for you?

I recently heard that eating too much top ramen soup is bad for you and that it causes high cholesterol? Is this true? I eat it atleast 3-4 times a week for lunch..

Answers:
....too much of EVERYthing is bad for you.

well it has a lot of sodium, so the best thing to do would be to find some meals that are easy to cook and are healthier.

i don't think so it probably has a lot of sodium in it though

I wouldn't call it health food. It does have a ton of sodium.

i gained weight living off those i would assume so

like omg. it is healthy 4 u but if u eat it too much ur cholesterol will go up because of the salt in the ramen

I would bet that if you started a low salt diet you would then know why top ramen noodles are not healthy enough to eat that much a week.

It has a lot of sodium. If you get the Top Ramen Brand Oriental flavor, there is no cholesterol in it because it has no animal products. Don't know how much cholesterol is in the other flavors.

Not necessarily the cholesterol in it that makes it bad for you but take a look at how much sodium it contains, if you do eat it a lot try not to add the whole seasoning package to the soup. The noodles themselves aren't bad at all, a bit bland without the seasoning though. You can add tons of things to it to make it healthier.

If you make it with the little packet of seasoning that comes with it, it's going to be very high in sodium and chemical additives. If you eat just the noodles with say, pesto...it's not that bad for you.

It can be, it has lots of sodium and caliores .

yes. extremely high in sodium and fat.

Top Ramen is not bad for you if you eat it in moderation. If you eat it everyday for every meal, then yes, your cholestorol would be throught the roof. Eating it 3 or four times a week though shouldnt hurt. I am guilty of that myself. To make it a bit better, try using only three fourths of a seasoning packet or add a bit more water.

Man, I'm more concerned about the fat content than the sodium. If you flip over the package, it say the fat is something like 8 grams but that the package itself is TWO SERVINGS. So everything is multiplied by two. Ramen noodles are fried in fat before freeze drying, so they're more harsh on the body than most noodles like udon or spaghetti. I don't know about the cholesterol, but considering the frying, I'm guessing it's pretty bad..

It's like super salty so it could definitely raise cholesterol

i love top ramen!! yummy

Hmm...
