Is this a healthy day of food?!

Question:

Is this a healthy day of food?

Does this day of meals sound alright, and sorta healthy? (I am not sticking to only these foods everyday. I like variety!)
-Special K chocolate Bar
-Toasted peanut butter and jelly (little peanut butter) on sourdough break and water
-Wheat bread turkey sandwich with luttace, pickels, oli/vinegar, cheddar cheese and baked lays, original flavor (which contains 210 calories, 30 fat cal per bag) with vitamin water (strawberry kiwi flavor)
-Strawberry/vanilla fruit & yogurt parfait (about 12 oz.) and water

Any suggestions for the future?

Answers:
Not bad. Next time, add more fresh fruits and vegs and eliminate the cheddar from the sandwich. Sounds like you're on the right track though.

sure sound good

You need more fresh fruits and veggies. If you add more of these you don't have to count their calories. They will fill you up without adding weight. AND you'll feel really good too.

yes it seems pretty healthy to me, and for the future what i would it is stuff like chicken instead of hamburger because its healthier but still taste good

sounds good

you should eat 6 smaller meals almost like snacks, instead of the normal 3 big meals you used to EX: have a banana when u wake up, a yogurt between breakfast and lunch
lunch have an apple and sandwich, then have some vegetable sticks or a salad, and for dinner also keep it healthy but u may eat a little more, also drink plenty of water throughout the day

Be certain that the Peanut Butter doesn't contain Partially Hydrogenated Oil. Some companies will sell the Peanut Oil that will settle to the top and replace it with the artery clogging crap. If your Turkey sandwich is made from Cold Cut turkey, it is preserved with Sodium Nitrite (prevents botulism) but your digestive system converts it into a carcinogen, this conversion is blocked by any form of Vitamin C. So add some Tomato, other fruit or veggie that contains it.,. or use a Supplement with your meal. Otherwise, you're doing fine.

Well, that's not the worst diet I've ever seen, but I do have some suggestions.

1. More fruits and vegetables! More water would be necessary too if you're really only getting what you listed.

2. Omit the Special K bar. Most of the granola & "breakfast" or cereal bars sold commercially are no better than a candy bar. Read the nutrition info on the label.

3. Lays chips have got to go. Commercially prepared chips (and most bakery goods) have partially hydrogenated oils in them, which are TERRIBLE for cardiac health! If you must have a chip, there are some varieties that don't & actually include healthy ingredients like flax seeds. For example, Trader Joe's carries a chip that tastes JUST like Doritos, but they have 6 grams protein per serving, no cholesterol, sugar or hydrogenated oils. They're my pick for when I just gotta snack!

4. Fruit yogurts contain astonishing amounts of sugar (usually about 20-24 grams for a measly 6oz cup). There are more nutritional plusses to them than eating, say, cookies but you'd do better to buy plain yogurt and add your own fruit.

5. Make sure the wheat bread you're eating is actually whole grain wheat and not just made with "whole wheat flour", which is processed nearly as much as white bread. Milton's is a good, widely available brand - yummy, too!

Sound like you're not eating fast food - GOOD FOR YOU!

I commend your efforts toward eating a healthy diet. It really is possible to do and still eat delicious meals! A little research goes a long way to making it easy & 2nd nature.
