Is there a special way to remove tiny shells from lump crab?!

Question:

Is there a special way to remove tiny shells from lump crab?

I bought some (cheap) lump crab to make crab cakes and crab balls. The draw back with lump crab is that it has tiny shell fragments in it and I don't want to cook with them in it.

Is there a special way to separate the two?

Answers:
sorry but there is really only two things you can do, buy a higher quality crab meat, or separate by hand very carefully.

yes very techical, use your fingers
