Will water boil at 99 Celcius?!

Question:

Will water boil at 99 Celcius?

Will water boil at 99 Celcius?

Answers:
It sure will. It depends on the elevation of the land. The higher elevation will have the water boil at a lower temperature. Water boils at 100 Celsius at sea level.

In college, one of my chemistry professors gave me this travel adventure. He went skiing in Durango, Colorado. The ski lodge's restaurant offered hard-boiled eggs at $50 an egg. He was thinking, it doesn't cost $50 to boil an egg. After a few minutes, he caught on to their "joke". Boiling water at that high altitude would not cook the egg well enough. A pressure cooker would be needed to boil the eggs properly.
