It needs to kind of be fancy.

just go get some angel food cake at the store, they usually come in little rectangle shapes. then put them together and cut them to be shaped like florida. cover it all in fat free cool whip, then put fruit on top. spell out florida in blueberries and use sliced peaches, mango, strawberries, kiwi, etc.

if you're really artistic, you could maybe make it look like theres lakes or grass or palm trees on it. or, get some little toy alligators or something. you could also put the cool whip in separate tubs and mix it with food coloring to make water, grass, etc.

Oranges!!! With Cream:)

Fruit pizza will impress them. Kinda expensive, but everyone always loves it!

I am not sure what classifies a dessert as "Florida" but how about a fruit bruschetta? Use fruits that grow locally and some that don't...(mangoes, pineapple, oranges, bananas, strawberries..you get the idea) chop them up small, mix them with a little rice vinegar, a dash of light olive oil and fresh mint... let them marinate, stirring occassionally, while you prepare the baquette....Start w/ a classic french baquette. Slice it thin, brush it w/ a little butter and sprinkle w/ cinnamon (and sugar if desired). Broil them for 2 minutes or as long as it takes to get them a lightly toasted (they have to be able to support the bruschetta mix)... Just before serving, assemble these delicious treats by topping each piece of toast with a spoonful of the fruit mixture. Each can be garnished with a touch of whipped cream (I prefer unsweetened homemade whipped cream) and chopped mint if desired.

Note: If you prefer sweeter fruit honey may be added to the vinegar, prior to putting it on the fruit, to make it even sweeter.

The perfect florida dessert is key lime pie :) You can find key limes at the grocery store. They look like regular limes but they are smaller (and very tart). If your grocery store doesn't carry them don't worry, just use regular persian limes. Check out this website for lots of key lime recipes... http://www.keylimeshop.com/index.html...
