Foil packet potatoes on the grill?!

Question:

Foil packet potatoes on the grill?

Hi, I found a few recipes online for foil packet sliced potatoes. They didn't specify what kind of potatoes to use.
What kind cook the best and what kind of heat should I use on the grill?
Thanks!

Answers:
Red potatoes are good and when you cut and season them, if you lay them with the cut side against the foil they get grilled and sorta crusty and it makes the flavor really nice. I also use cooking spray on the inside of the foil so they don't stick.

redskins work nicely, mid range heat will work

Definately Idaho Potatoes. Just baste the potato with extra virgin olive oil and season them well with lots of salt and pepper. If you are using whole bakers, be sure to pierce the potato before wrapping in the foil packets. You can also slice the potatoes and baste with olive oil, season well and add some freshly chopped herbs and veggies, such as sliced onions, red and green peppers that are thinly sliced and perhaps some fresh mushrooms. Wrap up tightly and put the grill on the medium setting. Set each wrapped package on the grill and close the lid. Shouldn't take more than 45 minutes.
