How many ounces of meat are on 12 ounce chicken quarter leg?!

Question:

How many ounces of meat are on 12 ounce chicken quarter leg?

Im asking this because it weighs 12 ounces with the bone in

Answers:
They aren't all the same - some birds are meatier than others. But you'll probably have within one ounce either direction of 9 oz, including meat, skin, tendons.

To find out you would have to take all the meat off of the bone. Then weigh the bone. Subtract that from the 12 ounces to find out exactly how much meat is left.

The best way to find out would be to debone the chicken and weigh the meat. There is no definitive answer that I can think of because chicken leg quarters are not uniform in size.

i dont know but your making me hungry!
